CNUE Plenary General Assembly – Luxembourg, 4–5 June
–
On 4 June, representatives of the 22 EU notariats had the privilege of visiting the Court of Justice of the European Union. The programme featured an exchange with Mr Franz Biltgen, President of Chamber, a presentation of recent case law of particular relevance to the notarial profession, a guided tour of the Court buildings, and an insight into the Court’s multilingual functioning – a true reflection of Europe’s diversity.
The following day, the CNUE held its Plenary General Assembly in the presence of Ms Elisabeth Margue, Luxembourg’s Minister of Justice. In her opening remarks, she underlined the essential role of notaries in safeguarding legal certainty and the rule of law, particularly in a context of increasingly cross-border transactions.
A key item on the agenda was the CNUE’s upcoming participation in the High-Level Forum “Justice for Growth”, an initiative launched by the new European Commission and the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union. This Forum aims to promote strategic dialogue on justice policy as a lever for economic growth and competitiveness across the EU. The CNUE President Cosita Delvaux will represent the notariat at the next political meeting on 25 June in Brussels, focusing on company law and the digitalisation of justice.
